Uganda is one of the most Christian countries in Africa, yet Christians there still experience persecution. Most persecution occurs in the northern and eastern areas of the country which are Muslim-dominated. There, converts from Islam are persecuted by their families and society. Churches in these areas are weak and many of them are wary of the consequences of helping converts. Many young people come to faith in Christ but are then confronted by violence and marginalization. In Christian-majority parts of the country, Christians display strong, Bible-based prayer lives.
