One Prayer. One Day. One Meaningful Way to Love the Church.
Prayer is one of the simplest and most meaningful ways we can stand with our brothers and sisters in Christ.
We may never meet most of the believers represented in this calendar, but we are united with them as one Body. When we pray for their courage, protection, healing, and strength, we are reminding the persecuted Church that they are known, loved, and never forgotten.
The August Prayer Calendar provides one focused prayer or praise for every day of the month. You will pray for believers facing government pressure, isolation, violence, imprisonment, and economic hardship. You will also celebrate the ways God is protecting His people, drawing new believers to Christ, and strengthening churches around the world.
This month, you will:
- Pray for believers in Afghanistan who continue serving Christ despite great danger.
- Pray for protection for Christian ministries in Egypt facing growing government pressure.
- Ask God to bring healing to victims of persecution in Nigeria.
- Praise God for more than 1,000 people studying Scripture through a discipleship movement in Kenya.
- Praise God for churches in Ethiopia welcoming new believers with hope and joy.
- Pray for strength for Christians imprisoned in Iran because of their faith.
You can use the calendar during your morning prayer time, around the dinner table, with your small group, or as part of your church’s weekly prayer gathering.
It only takes a few moments each day, but those moments help connect us to the global Church and deepen our understanding of what our brothers and sisters are facing.
