“For me, prayer is a conversation with the Lord.
I take time with the Lord, just as David says in Psalm 27: “For one thing, I have decided that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to inquire his temple. Behold the beauty of the Lord.”
I always say, “God, I want to behold your beauty.” I do see him, and I teach others to have the same experience.
How do you pray?
In the beginning, I just sit quietly. I ask the Holy Spirit to come.
Mostly, I read the Bible. I also like to turn on music to sing or proclaim God’s promises. Every day I write in my diaries something that I learned about God or something he taught me. I do this early in the morning.
Why do you pray?
When a couple is dating, they really want to spend time with each other – like a bride and a bridegroom. They do not want to watch at the clock.
I am in love with God. I want to know about him. Nobody makes me pray – I want to spend time with the lover of my soul.”
