SNAPSHOT: SOUTHEAST ASIA
August 5, 2025

Like many of the countries where ICR supports Christians, Southeast Asia is complicated.

This communist, Buddhist-majority country has hosted large evangelical crusades, although most people in the region would be against a family member converting to Christianity. ICR partners are taking advantage of comparatively low pressure on Christians to plant more churches and train Christians as leaders and evangelists.

However, the government also monitors Christians. Police or the local communist committee often call a local partner within minutes when he visits Christians in other areas. Sometimes, the police are waiting for him when he arrives at another church. It’s not clear how they track him, but it’s certain that they do.

When you give, persecuted Christians are supported, discipled, and equipped for ministry in hostile countries.
