SNAPSHOT: North Africa
January 2, 2026

From Morocco to Egypt, North Africa shares a common story—Muslim-majority nations where Arabic is spoken and faith in Christ comes at a cost. Converts from Islam often face rejection, unemployment, or open persecution, and in some areas, more than 40 churches have been forced to close.

Yet, a quiet spiritual shift is happening. Through social media, the Gospel is reaching a new generation. Many young people—disillusioned with the emptiness of Islam—are searching for Truth online. Christians are using these same platforms to share Scripture and hope. “This is a big opportunity,” an ICR field worker said. “Young people are responding in remarkable ways, and many are discovering Jesus for the first time.”
