Snapshot: Mali
March 2, 2026

Mali is a Muslim-majority country in West Africa where faith and family are deeply intertwined. For those who choose to follow Jesus, persecution often comes not from the state, but from within their own families and communities. Converts—especially women—face rejection, violence, and social isolation.

Pressure increases during religious seasons, when conformity is expected and deviations are closely watched. In rural areas, poverty is widespread, access to medical care is limited, and women are particularly vulnerable during pregnancy and childbirth.

Despite these challenges, local believers continue to live out their faith quietly. Through practical compassion—medical help, support for families, and safe housing—Christians bear witness to Christ’s love in places where words alone would be too dangerous.
