Haile Didn’t Believe
June 19, 2025

Haile* didn’t really have faith that God could heal the man.

He prayed, but he didn’t expect anything to happen.

Halie is a Bible student supported by ICR. After experiencing persecution from his family after he became a believer, Haile wanted to study the Bible and he wanted to share the true hope that he had found in Jesus.

During his free time from school, Haile travels to various regions to pray for people. In one village, the community asked him to pray for a paralytic. The family had sought treatment from many occult healers to no avail. The man was paralyzed and couldn’t walk.

When Haile saw him, he thought there was no way the man could ever be healed.

“He’s too sick, and he’s too involved with the occult,” Haile thought. He prayed out of politeness and left.

Secretly, he hoped they’d never call Haile to pray again. But they do, and they had a story to tell Haile. After Haile prayed, every night the family could hear the man’s bones making a strange cracking sound. This happened every night for several weeks, until the man was completely healed and could walk again.

The whole family became Christians, and many more in the village also gave their lives to Christ. There are now three house church groups in the village, and Haile continues to lead the three groups, teaching them to be disciples of Jesus. He said, “Please pray that we will have more laborers for the harvest, and that more people will get theological training.”
